Interrupted

Each sticky note is something either I or someone else has said when they interrupted someone while they were speaking. I wanted this piece to be a commentary on communication and language and to raise questions such as, Why do we interrupt people? Do we value what we have to say more than listening to others? Is what we have to say to inerrupt another relaly more important than what they are saying? Installed for a week outside the University Center at UC Santa Barbara, December 2017.

Etching print and watercolor. I used a small tool to carve into a sheet of plexiglass and then carefully added and removed ink until it was just right. The paper used is special (I forget the name), but it feels like cloth. I soaked and dried the paper before making the print. <br> May 2017
